SOMETHING FANS MAY NOT KNOW: Dr.Daniel McGehee was born and raised in south Alabama were he learned to hunt and fish the rivers, creeks, and bays of the Mobile/Tensaw River Delta System. He is a veteran of the United State Air Force. After his time in the USAF, he went on to achieve a Bachelor’s & Master’s Degree in Education from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. While teaching in the Mobile County Public School System, he received the call of God to the full time ministry. He went on to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from The River University in Tampa, Florida and a Doctorate Degree in Theology from Kingdom Life University also in Tampa, Florida. He has served the Lord and the body of Christ as a full time minister since 2003. Daniel is married to his lovely wife, Shellie, who teaches elementary school near their home in south Mississippi. His wife is currently working on an additional degree from William Carey University in Dyslexia Therapy. After nearly two decades away from tournament bass fishing due to the requirements of full time ministry, Daniel launched Team419Outdoors in 2020 and began tournament fishing once again with an eternal purpose. In each of the past three years he has qualified for the EOY Championship with the Dixie Bass Tournament Trail and the Pride of the South Delta Division Tournament Trail. With Team419Outdoors, Daniel uses his bass boat as a platform for the Gospel. In a 60 day period of time in 2022, he had over 8,000 visitors to the boat where more than 1,000 people called on Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. In 2022, the Team419Outdoors boat was the only boat invited to one of the largest men’s conferences in America (Tampa, Florida at RMI) where approximately 3,000 men from across America were in attendance. Dr.Daniel maintains a traveling schedule across America as an evangelist, teacher of God’s Word, motivational speaker, and now a professional fisherman with The National Professional Fishing League.
