SOMETHING FANS MAY NOT KNOW: Josh Watkins is an Active Duty Solider who has spent over 19 years in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. He has held numerous positions throughout his career including Jumpmaster, Special Reaction Team (SRT), Drill Sergeant, and First Sergeant. Currently he serves as the team lead for the United States Army Outdoors Team where he gets to pursue and share his passion for fishing, while still serving his country. He has served in two combat tours to Afghanistan and one combat tour to Iraq accumulating just over three years conducting hundreds of combat patrols while on mission. During his career, MSG Watkins has always put the success of the mission and his unit before his own goals. While fishing in the NPFL allows him to demonstrate that he is a successful angler, it also provides him a platform as an inspiration to other Soldiers to prove that your passions do not stop the moment you put on the uniform. In his spare time he enjoys teaching and sharing his knowledge of the military and fishing with the next generation and the future Soldiers of America. “The opportunities that the Army has to offer are endless, you can still chase your passions and dreams while serving your country,” said Master Sergeant Josh Watkins.
